Product Overview
Background
Epoxide hydrolases are involved in the metabolism of a wide range of drugs and other xenobiotics. These enzymes catalyze the addition of water to an epoxide forming the vicinal dihydrodiol. This typically is configured as trans. The enzymatic hydration is essentially irreversible and produces metabolites of lower reactivity that can be readily conjugated and excreted. Microsomal epoxide hydrolase is induced by many compounds, including phenobarbital, trans-stilbene oxide and aflatoxin.
Product
This antibody, prepared against purified rabbit epoxide hydrolase, it is intended for the characterization of epoxide hydrolase with Western blots. It also cross-reacts with rat epoxide hydrolase.
